Extended protection against neutral interruption

Doepke offers an effective solution that provides significantly higher protection for both the installation and connected equipment.

Interruptions in the neutral conductor are one of the most common causes of damage to electronic equipment. When the phases are loaded asymmetrically, a neutral point shift occurs, which can lead to dangerous over- or undervoltages. The consequences can range from operational disruptions to costly damage – or in the worst case, fire.

With the new residiual current circuit-breakers and main switches in the DFS and DHS series, Doepke offers an effective solution that provides significantly higher protection for both the installation and the connected equipment.

Unlike traditional residiual current circuit-breakers, the rccb and main switches monitor all phases and the neutral conductor on the supply side. In the event of a fault, the voltage is quickly interrupted before harmful voltage levels can occur. The advanced DHS NUS model goes one step further and also monitors the neutral rail using a separate sensor, which provides maximum protection even in the event of a neutral interruption after the residual current circuit breaker.

Depending on the design, different parts of the network are disconnected in the event of a fault:
• NU design: all network conductors are disconnected
• DHS NUS: only the phases are disconnected, while the neutral is monitored separately
This provides high safety without compromising function or availability.
