PALLE – AI support for electrical and energy engineering education

Our AI tool is not ChatGPT for students. PALLE has been developed specifically for Swedish electrical and energy engineering education and can be used across the entire Electrical and Energy Programme, from core electrical and energy engineering to specialised training in electrical installation, automation, energy, security technology, building networks and lighting.

The physical textbook is the knowledge base. PALLE trains, guides and provides feedback to students, while also supporting teachers with assessment.

The teacher determines how PALLE should interact with each student: by providing only right-or-wrong answers, guiding the student back to the relevant section of the textbook, or giving an educational, explanatory response. PALLE also takes account of the courses the student has previously completed, ensuring that both support and assessment are based on the appropriate prior-knowledge level.

PALLE follows each student’s development in both theory and practice through, among other features, the Chapter Guide, Fact Check, Practical Skills Check, Materials Check, Rules Check, EvA Check, APL Check, CAD Check and Cable Check.

PALLE can analyse student answers even when they contain spelling mistakes, and all text can be read aloud using text-to-speech.

The goal is simple: AI should not replace the teacher; it should help teachers enable more students to succeed.
