About us
BrainLit develops evidence-based welfare technology that uses dynamic, circadian lighting to support the body’s natural rhythm. By providing the right light at the right time of day, we create better conditions for health, well-being and safe, sustainable care environments.
In elderly care, light plays an important role in health, well-being and everyday care. The right light at the right time of day contributes to increased daytime alertness, better sleep at night, reduced restlessness and a more supportive environment for both residents and staff.
With BrainLit’s solutions, lighting environments are created to follow the body’s biological needs throughout the day and provide better conditions for alertness, safety, recovery and sleep.
Our technology is based on research into how light affects circadian rhythm, sleep, recovery, cognition and well-being. By combining evidence-based knowledge with user-friendly welfare technology, we make it easy for elderly care facilities, care providers and municipalities to create better indoor environments – without adding extra tasks to an already busy workday for staff.
BrainLit’s solutions can be used in shared spaces, corridors, staff areas, resident rooms and activity environments. We offer both fixed lighting systems and flexible solutions such as Alven – a mobile, dynamic welfare lamp developed for care environments. Alven makes it possible to introduce evidence-based light support where the need is greatest, for example during meals, activities, rest or in environments where the goal is to create increased safety and structure throughout the day.
For us, good care is not only about what we do, but also about the environment we create around each person. With the right lighting, we support the circadian rhythm, create calmer evenings, better conditions for sleep and a more sustainable working environment for staff.
