Shelly BLU

Shelly BLU sensors do not require an additional gateway – your Gen3/Gen4 devices already act as a bridge.

Shelly BLU is a series of battery-powered Bluetooth devices (BLE) that complement your installation with sensors and buttons without additional wiring. The range includes Shelly BLU Button1, Shelly BLU Door/Window, Shelly BLU Motion, Shelly BLU H&T (temperature and humidity), Shelly BLU TRV, Shelly BLU Wall Switch 4 and Shelly BLU RC Button 4. Unlike Wi-Fi-based products, the BLU devices communicate via Bluetooth and require a gateway to forward the information to the network. There is a clear advantage here for those of you who already install Shelly's Gen3 and Gen4 devices: these can act as gateways for the BLU devices via the BTHome function, without the need to install a separate Shelly BLU Gateway. A relay module that you install in the control panel or behind a switch can therefore simultaneously receive and forward data from nearby BLU sensors. The latest generation of BLU devices, with the suffix ZB in the name – for example the Shelly BLU RC Button 4 ZB and the Shelly BLU Wall Switch 4 ZB – can also be paired as either a Bluetooth or a Zigbee device. The choice is made during pairing and allows the device to be integrated into Zigbee-based ecosystems and hubs, as an alternative to the usual Bluetooth connection. This provides easier installation, fewer components to manage on site and a solution that works locally without cloud dependency – commands can be executed directly in the local network via the device’s web interface. The BLU devices are suitable for door and window monitoring, motion-controlled lighting, temperature logging, radiator valve control and remote control via buttons – all with long battery life thanks to Bluetooth Low Energy.
