Shelly X is a so-called white label platform that enables manufacturers to build smart connectivity into their own products, based on the same proven technology that already powers over 28 million Shelly devices worldwide. Instead of developing their own IoT platform from scratch, the manufacturer gets access to pre-certified modules, a free cloud system and an app that works right out of the box – without royalties, subscriptions or hidden costs beyond the module price. The platform supports Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0 with Low Energy, as well as protocols such as MQTT, WebSocket, Webhooks and BTHome. The products also work without a cloud connection and can be integrated directly with, for example, Home Assistant, without a separate gateway. Security is handled with mTLS, certificates and encryption, and the manufacturer chooses whether to use Shelly's cloud service, their own infrastructure, or a combination. For you as an electrical installer, this means that products from other brands based on Shelly X share the same technical foundation as Shelly's own products – the same reliable connection, the same openness to established smart home systems and the same level of support and firmware updates. You can therefore install and put them into operation with the same confidence as a Shelly product, regardless of the brand name on the casing.
